The Structural Design Engineer’s responsibilities include:

  • Work collaboratively with a design team of professional engineers, drafters, designers, and other engineers
  • Manage all information required to create deliverables across project life cycle, from initial survey to final construction drawing submission
  • Stamp engineering documents as/when required.
  • Assist estimating the development of estimates.
  • Research and obtain local land base and existing utility as-built shape files for import to aid in design
  • Conduct QA/QC and process documents for project specific specifications and standards
  • Manage project timeline, while overseeing deliverable completion
  • Must perform self-study to understand new and emerging technologies Must maintain continuing education required to hold a stamp
  • Train new team members and continually educate design team on standards and review process make sure all contributors know the required review criteria as it impacts other project areas
  • Working directly with other professionals with supervision
  • Must collaborate with cross functional groups on projects
  • Ensure all drawings comply with industry, local jurisdiction, and client standards
  • Help lead team of designers / drafters to create accurate CAD site, permitting, construction, and as-built drawings for building projects utilizing engineering notes, sketches, and/or other drawings
  • Mentor and train drafters, as needed, to meet project objectives
  • Exhibit a positive can do approach and desire to support project requirements
  • Create, coordinate, and manage CAD data for multiple very large building projects
  • Organize and maintain revisions of project drawings, plot files and project-related information in a logical well structured manner
  • Adhere to task level budgets and project schedule

Desired Candidate Profile - Qualifications

We are seeking candidates with the following qualifications:
  • Minimum 3+ years of experience
  • Membership of recognized professional institutions (IESL)
  • Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering
  • Strong engineering / technical background, especially in civil and or structural design.
  • Excellent command English both written and spoken
  • The ability to manage a heavy workload, with a close attention to detail
  • Progressive experience in AutoCad.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction and other types of design drawings.
  • Detail oriented and committed to a quality control process.
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Comfortable with Google Earth, GIS or other mapping applications.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Prior work in the construction field, or a strong civil engineering background.
  • Ability to be flexible in daily duties and level of responsibility, encompassing redlining as well as leading plan production efforts.
  • Flexible to work outside of normal business hours, if required.
  • Ability to prioritize projects, deadlines daily.
  • Must enjoy working in a fast paced, high-growth, rapidly changing work environment.
