Junior Architects - Job Vacancies

Kedella is looking for motivated individuals that are self starters that require minimal supervision, looking to expand, grow within the firm and committed to developing a high quality design and production experience.

The Junior Architect’s responsibilities include:

• Prepare building plans, site plans and work with clients.
• Use CAD to develop graphic representation of project
• Client Interaction and Presentation Skills
• Use our resource to create 3D visualizations
• Select materials based on client desire, budget and climate parameters
• Conduct on-site inspections to assure adherence to final plan
• Making project timelines, budgets and deliverable schedules
• Sketching preliminary design drawings
• Drawing construction details, wall sections, existing conditions, floor plans, reflected ceiling plans, interior elevations, framing plans, sections, architectural details, etc.
• Coordinating all trades and agencies related to building design, permitting, zoning, etc.
• Acting as a resource for the Design Team
• Maintaining current knowledge of code requirements, structural complexities, cost/general design knowledge for each project

Preferred:

• At least 3 years of experience at an architecture firm
• Deep knowledge of industry practices, codes, rules and regulations
• Proactively engage with project and respond to project deadlines
• Evidence of past internship or extracurricular activity in the field
• Develop and maintain good working relationships with other colleagues
• Have appetite for self-development and learning
• Be enthusiastic in collaboration
• Have “Total Design” mindset
• Have high level of self-motivation
• Be able to take initiative
• Be receptive to and supportive of change
• Actively listen and show understanding
• Understand the role and deliverables and can self-guide to achieving those
• Be keen to travel around Sri lanka
• Interpersonal skills, public speaking and persuasive ability desired
